Jon Rooks has made a presentation to the Grand Haven Planning Commission seeking their input and support in a new condo project at the Wharf Marina, the city’s only private downtown marina within walking distance of shops and restaurants. He is seeking approval to start a 95-unit condominium project which would include extensive amenities on the top floor including a proposed fitness center, adult’s clubhouse, family clubhouse, outdoor pool and sunning deck and hot tubs. He also thinks this project will help promote more development around the immediate area.


The next steps according to Kristen Turkelson, is to create a preliminary development plan, which would include a traffic impact and market needs study.


Rooks Parkland Properties other projects have been well received.  His Monroe Terrace and City View projects Grand Rapids, MI  have all been sold out.  Jon Rooks and Brad Gruizinga’s Union Square are down to their last four available units.  And the Boardwalk Condominiums along the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids is 95% sold.

Jonathan Rooks of Parkland Properties has recently presented an exciting proposal to the Grand Haven Planning Commission to start a project on the waterfront in Grand Haven, Michigan.  His goal is to build a 95-unit condominium project at the Wharf Marina, by changing one of the current boat storage warehouses into an upscale 7-story condominium building.


“We think this will be a catalyst for development across the road and across the river”, Rooks said at his presentation.  He is pleased by the positive response he has gotten so far. If approved and the numbers are viable, the development could be started sometime in 2013.
