When asked recently whether the recession of 2008/2009 has reduced Grand Rapids from the ranks of a “cool place” to live, Jon Rooks said, “No!”   He alluded to the number of the new restaurants and nightspots that have opened within the last few years as proof.  Rooks credits the universities, Michigan State and Grand Valley State, for adding energy and resources to the downtown.  Residents have liked the heartbeat that has been added by these institutions.

In a recent MiBiz.com article Rooks states, “The greatest majority of the people say a favorite place to live would be in a medium-sized downtown, urban environment, close to shows, restaurants, entertainment, educational institutions and medical institutions”

Parkland Properties of Michigan, LLC has a few Grand Rapids downtown condos left at their Boardwalk or Union Square projects.  Call them to see how you can live in a “cool place”.

Contact Bradley Veneklase at 616-988-6466 for more information.

In a recent article in the MiBiz, Jon Rooks, president of Parkland Properties in Grand Rapids, Mi, stated that the condo occupancy is close to being maxed out, with only a 6-month to 9-month supply.

Rooks added, “there are no new construction projects in the foreseeable future, which is adding pressure to the shrinking supply.   We are feeling the market correction of 2008 still and developers are seeking to learn more about Governor Snyder’s 2012 budget and how the limited pot of loans and grants will be dispersed.”

Also “in the last three to four years, the banking and mortgage industry hit condos hard; they didn’t want to finance them”, stated by Bradley Veneklase of Parkland Properties.

Getting into a Brad Gruizinga Union Square Condominium was just made easy.  How you ask?  Brad stated that, “we have been recently approved for FHA financing”.  Why is this important? This allows anyone interested in buying one of the award winning condos a low 3.5% down payment and a current fixed interest rate of around 4%.  Owning in downtown Grand Rapids is now easier than ever.  FHA financing is also assumable. This means when you need to sell your condo and interest rates have increased, the buyer can assume your low interest rate loan.
